Job TitlePlant Machine Maintenance Technician TraineeLocation(s)San MarcosWork ScheduleTraining (M-F from 7a - 5p, and some Saturdays if necessary (time varies))Schedule: M-F, some Saturdays as needed. 12p-8:30pWages$20-26 Depending on ExperienceHours Per WeekFull Time - 40+Job DutiesSeeking external candidates wanting to cross train in a working plant environment. The ideal candidate must have mechanical aptitude (auto or related is fine) and will be motivated, have a good attitude and be able to learn to do the following:maintain various types of fluid packaging machinery in a food plant environment, including related auxiliary machinery. Handling of chemicals for support equipment operation. Chemical testing of boiler feed water, condenser, cooling tower water, food-grade glycol, and plant process water. Fabrication and manufacturing of equipment for production needs: product and process piping, sanitary equipment, steam lines, chemical lines, pneumatic lines, etc. Must be able to work overtime as needed. Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meets regulatory and company requirements. Learn to weld if not already familiar, work with tools provided. Other duties as assigned.Education & Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); read and write proficiently in English, proven mechanical experience in related mechanical (or auto) required.Other Training will be provided to candidate with mechanical experience and aptitude.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
