POSITION SUMMARY: Custodians work in various settings and are responsible for the general upkeep of a building. They are key members of the custodial team who work collaboratively with Custodial Team leads to provide quality custodial services to our clients. Please note that 75% of the labor hours for our contracts are reserved for individuals with documented significant disabilities. We strongly encourage individuals with documented disabilities to apply. RESPONSIBILITIES: Formulate work assignments for each site and ensure all employees are properly trained for assignments. Counsel employees on appropriate interpersonal communication, problem solving, and other job maintenance skills. Document observations about individual team members attendance, punctuality, performance and behavior and communicate this information to the Custodial Supervisor as appropriate.. Obtain, pick up and deliver custodial supplies and safety equipment so as to ensure that all employees under supervision have proper equipment and supplies to perform their duties. Monitor staff to ensure safety procedures and department polices are followed. Inspect the work of all employees and fill out inspection reports nightly. Work directly with the cleaning teams to ensure effective team work. Perform routine and preventative maintenance on cleaning equipment. Transport cleaning teams to various work assignments as required. Adhere to the assigned work schedule. Meet Yearly Mandatory Training requirements for this position. Demonstrate ethics and complies with Corporate Compliance Program. Perform other duties as assigned. Provide recommendations for corrective action in areas that need improvement. Assist the Project Manager on Annual Performance Evaluations as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: At least one year of hands-on custodial experience, including floor re-finishing. At least six (6) months of supervisory experience. Some knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work, including safety practices. Ability to lift fifty pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation. Ability to read and write to read and write. Basic computer skills. Valid driver s license, personal auto and liability insurance, and good driving record. Ability to pass a criminal background check (subject to requirements of assigned site client).
