Job Summary

This person will perform a variety of functions connected with production control such as production scheduling, inventory control, material planning, and purchasing. They will work with company departments to achieve the Manufacturing Department and company goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

* Create, process, maintain, and expedite work orders and purchase orders in order to maintain proper inventory. * Monitor inventory levels and track the progress of orders to ensure they will be on time. * Create and modify a production schedule of each production operation as assigned. * Attend scheduling meetings and participate in discussions to find solutions for scheduling issues. * Coordinate inventory replenishment and accuracy of components with sub-contractors. * Process daily and monthly inventory cycle counts. * Complete inventory transactions such as transfers and adjustments, as required, to update inventory levels. * Ensure work orders' accuracy by reviewing, researching, and correcting discrepancies. * Coordinate with suppliers and customs broker to ensure the required international shipping and commercial documents are received. * Review and process non-conforming reports. * Request quotes and samples as required from suppliers and subcontractors. * Help resolve purchasing problems between SEIP and suppliers. * Process return to vendor requests. * Communicate with Engineers, Product Management and Manufacturing to help coordinate the processing of R&D, D&D and samples. * Manage excess and slow moving inventory or obsolete items. * Perform routine clerical duties including data entry and filing. * Work with Accounting and Warehouse Departments to ensure that all transactions are accounted for and accurately processed. * Help identify and select suppliers to procure inventory items, meet criteria such as price, quantity, quality, and delivery date. * Complete the Production Control portion of setting up a new supplier. * Create purchase requisitions to acquire necessary services or products as needed. * Understand the Quality Standards that SEIP is certified for and how they affect the company and Production Control Department.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

* Minimum of a High School Diploma. * Minimum of 5 years of experience in the supply chain field preferably in but not limited to production planning, and scheduling. * Experienced and able to utilize computerized planning and purchasing software systems. * Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word. * Must be able to perform mathematical functions such as fractions, unit conversions, and ratios. * Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. * Ability to work in a fast-pace, multi-tasking environment. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with employees from all levels of the company and sub-contractors.


* Bachelor's degree. * APICS Training or Certification. * Experienced with JD Edwards. * An enthusiastic self-starter who is dependable with good time management skills. * A proactive and reactive problem solver.

Special Position Requirements

* Up to 10% travel required to support off-site sub-contractors California border town of Mexico. (Travel to Mexico currently suspended due to COVID-19, but will be resumed as conditions permit.) * This job operates in a professional office and manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, scanners, photocopiers, file cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Requirements

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand for long periods of time, walk from building to building, and perform basic clerical functions such as filing and copying. * The employee is regularly required to bend, twist and lift.
