Location: Working in our MOBILE UNIT to service patients that are not able to come to our clinics!Shift: Flexible days and hours. We'd love to hear from you!Position Summary:The Mobile Medical Assistant Float must be adaptable and comfortable to work in different environments and be willing to cover at any location within the organization with minimal notice. Working with the Mobile Unit team, traveling to different venues, to provide medicalvisits in our Mobile Medical & Dental unit. Essential Functions:Interview patients to obtain medical information and confirm purpose of visit.Copy immunization cards of all new children or, if none available in chart, of established patients.Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms stocked, neat and clean.Sterilize instruments following sterilization guidelines and maintain accurate logs.Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; and taking blood pressure, height, weight and temperature.Record patients' medical history, vital signs and information such as test results in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Assist medical staff in examining and treating patients, handing them instruments and materials or performing such tasks as giving injections and removing sutures.Perform various laboratory procedures to include urine analysis, cultures, immunization, Hgb, lead levels and EKGs.Collect blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.Perform respiratory treatments, injections and immunizations according to TrueCare protocols or standing orders.Change dressings on wounds.Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records.Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians' instructions to patients.Discharge patients from visit per patient discharge protocols.Schedule appointments for patients, as needed.Refer calls to medical staff when appropriate for emergency or medical questions.Perform front desk duties including but not limited to registering and checking-in patients, and answering phones.Work on special projects including but not limited to conducting patient follow-up or outreach, updating patient records, word processing of patient correspondence, and completing insurance forms.Travel to any location to provide support coverage.Adjust responsibilities based on assigned provider and/or health center/department needs.Accommodate schedule and/or location changes with minimal notice. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications Required High School Diploma, GED, or foreign equivalent.Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.Bilingual in SpanishKnowledge of medical terminology, medical laboratory procedures and healthcare operations and work flow.Qualifications DesiredAssociate's Degree in Healthcare related courses.At least one (1) year of Medical Assistant experience.Six (6) months experience with documentation in an EHR system.Phlebotomy training.LicensesWill be required to travel between all TrueCare sites and locations.Therefore, a CA Driver's License, proof of insurance and clean driving record are required.CertificationsMedical Assistant CertificateCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare ProvidersTrueCare requires employees to be vaccinated as a condition of employment, subject to accommodation obligations.
