Job Title LAB TECHNICIAN Location(s) San Marcos Work Schedule
Monday-Friday, 12pm-8:30pm or 7pm-3:30am, Occasional Saturdays or
Sundays as needed Wages $18 per hour , depending on experience
(raise after successful completion of introductory period) Hours
Per Week Full Time Job Duties Must have the knowledge and ability
to follow aseptic protocol; collect line samples, raw and
pasteurized milk samples received and produced daily for testing.
The person will be working with and maintaining laboratory
instruments, preparing media, plate counts after incubation period,
logging data in computer, testing shelf life stability, cleaning
lab utensils and other general duties as needed. Knowledge of math
skills, computer, ability to read/interpret documents, and write
routine reports/correspondence. May perform other duties as
assigned, work as part of a team, maintain a clean/sanitary/safe
work area. Requires accuracy and attention to detail. English
language proficiency required. Previous lab experience is preferred
but not required. Physical Requirements While performing the duties
of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to
finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear and taste or smell. The
employee is constantly required to stand; walk; reach with hands
and arms; climb or balance and stoop. The employee must
occasionally lift and/or move 10 to 55 pounds. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close vision, distance
vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and
ability to adjust focus. Work Environment While performing the
duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to humid
conditions and the noise level in the work environment is quiet
