mission of enabling seniors to successfully age in place with
access to high-quality, affordable health and support services that
preserve and protect their dignity, quality of life, and
independence.
The Gary and Mary West PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the
Elderly), affiliated with West Health (www.westhealth.org), is a
new non-profit that delivers medical, social, and behavioral
services to the frail elderly to the North County of San Diego.
This PACE center will be entrepreneurial in nature and will focus
on innovations and bringing new processes to the traditional PACE
environment.

Position Summary - -The Business Development Director is a critical
role within Gary and Mary West PACE, reporting to the Executive
Director. This role is responsible for identifying and conducting
evaluations and diligence on potential opportunities in line with
the overall strategic growth objectives for the West PACE
Organization. -The role is entrepreneurial and highly visible, with
a primary focus on strategic expansion opportunity assessments and
execution of new growth. The Business Development Director will
work collaboratively with the Leadership and Executive Leadership
teams to assess market potential and strategic relevance, as well
as develop the strategic and financial business case for potential
opportunities to serve the senior population. -Essential
Functions
- Lead the business development function aligned with the overall
business objectives of the organization. This will entail the
responsibility to identify and evaluate partnership and expansion
opportunities, present them to Executive Leadership, and facilitate
their implementation.
- Evaluate the market attractiveness and strategic fit of
potential inorganic new businesses/markets/domains that support the
PACE model of care.
- Manage contractual potential with partners in the care that may
include Alternative Care Setting (ACS) -agreements with ADHCs;
opportunities to co-locate within a variety of settings; and joint
ventures with housing providers, for example.
- Conduct primary/secondary market research activities to assess
market demographics and evaluate market potential for care
provision to seniors.
- Prepare and present new business opportunities to Executive
Leadership that include market opportunity, detailed financial
analysis, and ROI.
- Provide regular feedback to Executive Leadership on the
positioning of the company regarding competitiveness, territory
development and market conditions.
- Work closely with the Community Outreach Director and other
members of the Leadership Team to design and implement a sale and
marketing plan focused on securing new business development
opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with partner
organizations.
- Maintain a measure and tracking system of projects in progress,
delivering timely reports and presentations on a regular
basis.
- Provide specific feedback to Executive Director on performance

- -Bachelor's degree in Business or healthcare discipline; MBA or
Graduate degree preferred -Skills & Experience -
- Prior experience in strategy/business development, strategic
planning and/or strategic marketing. Healthcare industry experience
preferred but not required
- Possess a keen understanding of the Managed Care market
(familiarity with PACE model of care, preferred)
- Demonstrate the ability to build alliances and influence key
decision makers, both internally and externally, without formal
authority
- Exhibit high self-motivation, and possess ability to work and
plan independently as well as in a team environment
- Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, as evidenced by
the ability to deliver on commitments, an understanding of the
service culture and positive interactions with customers and
teammates, including good interpersonal skills in the areas of
diplomacy and negotiation
- Communicate in an exemplary manner both verbally and in written
form
- Conducts formal presentations to a wide variety of audiences
including colleagues, investigative staff, and clients with a high
level of proficiency
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across various
functions to ensure deliverables are met against required
timelines
- Ability to think critically
