OVERVIEW:
Under the management of the Nuclear Division Engineering Manager,
this position is responsible for the qualification of products used
in the nuclear power and research industry. - This position helps
ensure the operation of nuclear safety equipment under all design
basis conditions. - In this position you will have the opportunity
to be involved in every activity from the initial design, detailed
engineering analysis, manufacturing methods, functional testing and
calibration, to prototype testing and product qualification and
certifications. - This job includes travel up to 10% and equal time
spent on the manufacturing floor and in the office. - Continuous on
the job training is provided and assistance in the continuation of
academic education and processional certifications. - Flexible 5/8
or 4/10 40 hour workweek.ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans, formulates and provides direction for the research,
development and testing activities and the qualification of
products.
- Develops and administers programs for qualification of new or
modified engineered products, devices, equipment, systems, methods
materials and processes.
- Conducts research to assist design engineers in developing new
or modified products, devices, equipment, systems methods,
materials and processes.
- Prepares and reviews failure modes effects analysis
reports.
- Prepares and reviews mean time to failure reports.
- Prepares and reviews design specifications.
- Prepares and reviews product qualification reports.
- Performs testing and validation for specific design and
theoretical concepts either directly or through delegation to
technicians or vendors.
- Periodically, represents the company on technical contractual
and compliance requirements.
- Prepares specifications and RFQs for outside testing
services.
- Plans and formulates proposal elements including project
objectives, application of findings, equipment and manpower
requirements, and project cost estimates.
- Reviews and evaluates external outsourcing proposals and
recommends those considered feasible and cost effective to
engineering management.
- Independently manages and monitors activities of outside third
party contractors.COMMUNICATION:
Communicates effectively in English,
both verbally and in writing.Maintains effective and constructive
working relationships with others both internally and
externally.Prepares effective reports and presentation of project
information.MINIMUM EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors of Science in an Engineering Discipline.
- Minimum 1-3 years of demonstrated experience in the application
of engineering principles.
- Minimum 1 year experience in CAD and CAE software.
- Basic knowledge of analog electrical circuits.
- Basic knowledge of industrial codes and standards including
ASME, IEEE, IEC, etc.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel,
PowerPoint.RECOMMENDED EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Material
Science, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical
Engineering, or Nuclear Engineering
- 1-3 years of experience performing structural - static and
dynamic analysis computational and/or analytical1-3 years of
experience performing failure modes effects analysis1-3 years of
experience in applying principles of ASME BPVC or ASME B31.
- > 1 years in the Nuclear Power industry.
- > 1 years of experience using Solidworks.
- > 1 years of experience performing
work related to Commercial Grade Dedication.
- > 1 year of experience in functional or qualification
testing following industry standards such as IEEE323, IEEE382,
IEEE383, MIL-STD-810, IEC60780, RCC-E.
- Basic knowledge of commercial nuclear industry regulatory
requirements such as 10CFR50, 10CFR52, and NRC Regulatory Guides
Division 1.
- Basic knowledge of process instrumentation such as flow, level,
temperature meters and switches.Safety

While performing the duties of this
job, -this position requires extensive sitting while working on a
computer/work bench. Time spent at work bench includes grasping
while soldering, may use a magnifying tool/microscope. Regular
lifting up to 20-30 lbs., infrequent lifting up to 50 lbs. -
