Overview
Leads and participates in the certification, compliance and approvals of electrical and electronic products. Acts as an advisor to product managers, design team and manufacturing department on all product certification items. Manages the certification project from concept ideation to documentation release. Leads certification reviews, standards interpretation and negotiations with the certification agencies. Serves as the subject matter expert and communicates certification requirements to all branches of the organization. Maneuvers unexpected situations, provides creative solutions and drives towards project completion.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities include

• Coordinate the certification and approval process for new product development projects
  
• Become familiar with product designs and maintain existing product certificates
  
• Evaluate sustaining product changes from a product certification and compliance perspective
  
• Manage multiple stakeholders spread globally
  
• Actively participate in team discussions to align and deliver quality products
  
• Ensure that certification deliverables are accurately documented and easily retrievable
  
• Review, evaluate and establish priorities of certification tasks
  
• Drive products with an understanding and appreciation for the importance of customer requirements and robustness

    Desired Competencies
    
    • 
      
    • Familiarity with protection concepts in explosive environments (intrinsic safety, purge and pressurize)
      
    • Experience with IEC, UL, CSA standards
      
    • Experience working projects at, or with, certification bodies such as FM, Intertek/ETL, CSA, UL etc.
      
    • Able to coordinate projects at a global scale and influence cross-functional stakeholders
      
    • Familiarity with PCB design and layout
      
      
      
      Qualifications
      
      • 
        
      • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (or related field) with 3-5 years of industry experience or eight years of related work experience.
